Fashionable women's clothing & accessories producer Bebe stores Inc reported retail sales of $39.2 million for the four-week period ended August 27, 2005, an increase of 26.5 percent compared to sales of $31.0 million for the four-week period ended August 28, 2004.
Same store sales for the four-week period ended August 27, 2005 increased 16.9 percent compared to an increase of 9.2 percent for August 2004.
Retail sales for the year-to-date period ending August 27, 2005 were $76.5 million compared to $62.3 million for the year-to-date period ending August 28, 2004, an increase of 22.8 percent. Same store sales for the year-to-date period ending August 27, 2005 increased 20.7 percent compared to an increase of 9.4 percent for the year-to-date period ending August 28, 2004.
"They are very pleased with the results from the Collection Premier event held on August 18th and remain comfortable with the previous earnings guidance of $0.14 to $0.17 per share given for the first quarter of fiscal 2006. However, business was not as strong during the last week of the month and they now anticipate comparable store sales to be in the high teens range for the first quarter of fiscal 2006," said Greg Scott, bebe's Chief Executive Officer.
