Accessories manufacturer Oakley Inc announced the expansion of its successful line of ophthalmic-specific eyewear frames with three new styles. Featuring distinctive design cues, KICKSTAND, SPOKE and SOFT TOP 6.0 each utilize proprietary materials to optimize durability and comfort.
"Successful line of ophthalmic frames is expanding with new designs that take advantage of proven technologies," said Oakley President Colin Baden. "Prescription eyewear business continues to be an important avenue for educating new and existing customers about Oakley design philosophy and dedication to technology. Those who choose Oakley purely for fashion learn that performance, durability and comfort are also synonymous with the brand."
With clean lines that convey the individuality of the wearer, Oakley's new KICKSTAND is an ophthalmic-specific frame made of lightweight C-5 alloy. The ear stems combine the secure grip of supple Unobtainium with the adaptive fit of piston spring hinges to offer all-day comfort. KICKSTAND will be available with two lens shape options.
A new ophthalmic-specific frame called SPOKE utilizes Oakley O Metal, a proprietary alloy that allows the company to create exceptionally thin and lightweight frames. This innovative material enables Oakley to produce eyewear that offers a secure fit with minimal cranial pressure. The subtle and distinctive sculpture of SPOKE will be available in two lens shape options. Four finishes are planned for this frame, and all designs will feature the comfort and grip of soft Unobtainium components.
