Hartmarx Corporation announced that Michael S. Parker has been named Group President of HMX Tailored. Parker will report to Homi B. Patel, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hartmarx Corporation. Parker replaces Rich Biegel who left the company in July, 2007.
"We are thrilled to have Michael on board as we complete the transformation of our tailored business," Patel said. "While it is no secret that we have been restructuring this category, we now have someone in place with extensive experience marketing to department stores, who understands how to make that a profitable distribution channel for our company. Michael's past experience will be invaluable in this effort."
Parker's professional experience over the last twenty years spans both the tailored and sportswear categories. Most recently, he was Vice President, National Accounts at Peerless Clothing International where he managed and worked with a broad array of retailers.
Prior to that, he was President of P.B.M.'s Bremen trouser division. Parker, who started his career as an account executive for Tommy Hilfiger sportswear in 1990 has worked for Lacoste Sportswear and spent five years from 1997 to 2002 as Vice President of Lanier Clothing at Oxford Industries.
