Great artwork at 11th Annual Abaco Arts Festival

Abaco Beach Resort & Boat Harbour is pleased to announce the 11th Annual Abaco Art Festival, February 2 - 3, 2008. The resort will host this unique event that features artists from the Caribbean, the Bahamas as well as several artists from the United States.

The festival begins on Friday, February 1st, with a private welcome reception at Abaco Beach Resort's Grand Pavillion. Invited guests will have a special sneak preview of the artwork being featured as well as the opportunity to mingle with the artists and discuss the pieces over cocktails.

Many unique pieces of art will be featured from well-known artists such as Marjolein Scott, Andy Albury, Kim Rody, Kim Roberts, Michael Adams and Jeep Byers. Several different types of artwork and photography will be represented, including:

Sculpture Art/Carving Art – Detailed bronze carvings, woodcarvings and model and half-model sailboats.

• Fabric Art – View a selection of acrylic paintings, most featuring Bahamian sea life, quilts featuring tropical fantasies and breathtaking watercolors on silk.
• Jewelry Art -- Stunning sea glass and dichroic glass in both silver and gold.
• Stained Glass Art – A selection of artists will display stained glass pieces featuring images of conch shells and the vibrant marine life in the Abacos.
• Ceramic Art – See one-of-a-kind pieces that capture the spirit of the Caribbean.
• Photography Art – View vintage photos of island life and modern-day underwater shots that will leave you breathless.
