57 catwalk shows to take place at London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week is now established as one of London's premier events attracting a target audience of key fashion leaders, retailers and press who attend this bi-annual showcase of British designer fashion.
The British Fashion Council Industry Facts & Figures February 2008: • 57 catwalk shows to take place over 6 days • Over 200 ready-to-wear and accessory exhibitors at The Exhibition at London Fashion Week • London Fashion Week has grown from 15 shows/ presentations in 1994 • The Exhibition at London Fashion Week has grown from 50 exhibitors in 1994 • The Exhibition will play host to 28 estethica designers, 20 in New Generation, 3 within Fashion East, 14 under the Scottish Textiles umbrella, and 3 with Valery Demure. • On the catwalk there are 8 New Generation designers: Christopher Kane, Duro Olowu, Erdem, Krystof Strozyna, Louise Goldin, Marios Schwab, MeadhamKirchhoff, Todd Lynn • Over 5,000 visitors are expected: buyers, TV & radio crews, journalists and photographers • Canon is the principal sponsor, for the fifth consecutive season • Media coverage equals or exceeds most major news and international sporting events • Worldwide media coverage is worth over £50m each season • LFW is worth £20m to the London economy in terms of direct spend
