He wore the Omega at his inauguration ceremony and it was immortalized on his wrist in a photograph on the cover of LIFE magazine.
Until recently, the original Omega worn by John F. Kennedy was part of the privately-owned collection of Robert White, the largest such collection of John F. Kennedy memorabilia in the world.
Omega acquired the watch at a public auction at renowned auction-house Guernsey's on December 16, 2005. This unique historical timepiece, which fetched a price of $350,000, is now permanently on display at the Omega Museum in Biel, Switzerland along with the original thank you letter from Jacqueline Kennedy.
This acquisition has become part of the museum's impressive assortment of over 4,000 watches, clocks and other items highlighting Omega's watch making heritage and pioneering spirit.
