Young Talent Prize by B&B Design

On Friday, March 7, 2008 BREAD & BUTTER awarded the “Young Talent Prize” for the second time. Students Carolina Caralt of the Istituto Europeo di Design and Xavier Fernàndez of the Institut Català de la Moda were honoured for their outfits inspired by the theme King Size and produced exclusively for B&B Design. During the Barcelona Tour both winners showed convincing, individual interpretations of the campaign theme of the tradeshow for selected brands, winter 2008.

The prize-winners will be honoured with a stand in one of the B&B Studios in summer 2008 which will be integrated into the various areas of BBBarcelona. The designers and labels exhibiting there represent the next generation of B&B, thus uniting aesthetic and qualitative standards with commercial requirements.

The “Young Talent Prize” is part of the B&B Design project, which supports new and progressive design talents and serves as a link to key players in the industry. In conjunction with the event “080 – Barcelona Fashion”, the cultural organisations MerkaFad and ModaFad provided the design schools with a joint presentation platform and presented the outfits of the B&B Design Barcelona Tour once again under one roof.

During the last BBBarcelona, B&B Design presented the work of 32 students in cooperation with eight local fashion design schools. The work was exhibited in eight different fashion and lifestyle stores in Barcelona.
