It is announced that effective 25 March, 2008, Nicholas MUNAFO will assume the position of President, Beaute Prestige International USA, the American division of Beaute Prestige International (BPI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shiseido Cosmetics. Mr. MUNAFO will succeed Louis DESAZARS, who left BPI USA on 15 February, 2008 to head NARS Cosmetics.
Nicholas has held several successive positions at Proctor & Gamble's Prestige Products division, most recently serving as Executive Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, where he was responsible for a wide portfolio of prestige fragrance brands including Burberry, Gucci, Escada and Dolce & Gabbana.
Before joining Proctor & Gamble in 1998, Nicholas held the position of Marketing Manager, Private Label Brands, at Federated Department Stores.
Other previous experience includes sales and marketing positions at Parfums Boucheron, Barney's New York, and Saks Incorporated.
"In addition to his invaluable experience in marketing and sales, Nicholas brings with him a proven understanding of US market distribution and brand expansion, an important asset to BPI in its ongoing and ambitious local development plan," says Eric HENRY, COO of Beaute Prestige International.
Beaute Prestige International was created in 1992 to augment Shiseido's fragrance business with the development of new designer fragrance brands.
Beginning with Issey Miyake's L'Eau d'Issey in 1992, the company has slowly and steadily built its brand portfolio to include French designer Jean Paul Gaultier's CLASSIQUE (1993) and American designer Narciso Rodriguez's 'for her' 10 years later.
