Nachiket Barve's Autumn/Winter 2008 collection titled Zoom In Zoom Out at Lakme Fashion Week was a brilliant line of garments that had intricate fabric manipulation, muted dark colours tones like winter Frost, Sage, Platinum, Sapphire, Sleet, Rose, Tobacco, Silver Birch, Ice, Maple, Cinnamon, Charcoal, Ebony and silhouettes of the timeless kind.

Fabrics and embellishments played a creative game as matte and shine as well as rough and smooth blended effortlessly with icy pastels and twinkling silver highlights.

Shot and raw silk, organza, chiffon, georgette, velvet, satin and Dupion were moulded into engineered dresses, coats, coordinates and evening wear.

Reworking and creating special fabrics by cutting and joining them to create textures is a forte of Nachiket and he put his talents to the ultimate test in this segment.

Embellishments by Nachiket were subtly beautiful as abstract geometric contrasts textured layering, pleats and tucks along with abstract floral with cutwork added to the beauty of the stylishly elegant collection.

Stunners in the collection were the textured silk velvet yoke for the Dupion silk coat, amour cap sleeves for Lichen cutwork silk dress with piping detail and blouson waist, mosaic embroidered wide neck one button coat over an ombre dyed georgette dress with pleating and spaghetti straps, an interesting ombre dyed silk georgette dress with pleated back and a stylish rose cutwork double breasted coat.

It is Nachiket Barve's clean simple elegant silhouettes that have made his collections very timeless and have an international appeal to a very wide range of buyers.
