Abhishek's Third Wave created crest of excitement on LFW ramp
Apr '08
For Autumn/Winter 2008, Abhishek Dutta was influenced by the cause of saving the girl child and so named his collection Third Wave. The ramp came alive with the most vibrant and multicolored collection seen at Lakme Fashion Week.

Men's and women's wear was heavily embellished, very ornate and glitzy with prints, solids, weaves and knits coming together to create magic of the ethnic and western kind.

Hand embroidery, digital large prints depicting women in all their glory, along with artistic motifs; gave the creations a fusion look.

From jackets, boleros, sherwanis, fluid pants, dresses, dungarees to body hugging knit blouses; the garments were in a mélange of fabrics ranging from corduroys, satins and georgettes.

Men's wear was as colourful as women's with orange knit jackets with print, jersey yoke and rib body, short camel jackets with contrast lapels, and quilted waist coats in shaded tones.

Colours remained bright for both sexes with mustard yellow, canary, orange, purple and magenta teamed with dull tones of grey, black, beige and olive.

Detailing added to the beauty and texture of the garments as stitch work, quilting cutwork and hand crochet edged the saris. The eye-catching printed dupattas completed the look for both men's and women's wear.

Abhishek Dutta's latest collection had everything needed to make it one of the most stylish fashionable offerings for the coming season.
