An Autumn Affair from Vineet struck romanticism in viewers

Vineet Bahl's collection titled An Autumn Affair was inspired by the romance of the season which he visualized for Autumn/Winter 2008 at Lakme Fashion Week.

Known for his very feminine elegant styling; Vineet followed his signature look for the kurta dresses, kimono tops, jodhpur churidars and kaftans in fabrics that ranged from linen, chiffon, wool, georgette, satin, tusser and jacquard.

There was a slight oriental touch to the collection that could have been brought in by the beauty of Japan with kimonos and matching sleeves and lose kaftans shapes which were the perfect background for the muted tones of green, dusty yellow and electric blue, besides ivory and ash grey.

Embellishments were interesting as wire cutwork, rivet detailing, metal edging, silk threadwork, and water washed effects for fabrics created the mood of the garments.

The silhouettes were relaxed with the kurta dress and the inverted trapeze outfit being favourites of the designer. Three saris were discreetly embroidered with cord work, ribbon detailing and edging.

The ivory silk chiffon kimono kaftan dress with wire cutwork was a graceful beginning for the show. Vineet then added the cream georgette shift kurta with silver filigree cording, charcoal grey jacquard tunic with silk print jodhpurs, water washed patchwork wrap kurta dress with silk threadwork and Jocobian print.

He ended with a patchwork kimono sleeved kaftan with silk thread work. The clothes were teamed with matching knee high stockings to complete the look.

Vineet Bahl's Autumn Affair was an elegant resort line that moved from day to evening wear with perfect ease.
