Fur's spell of glamour bedazzles celebrities

Celebrities are a major influence on fashion, not just as role models for consumers to emulate, but also on the garments being produced by designers.

Fashion darlings Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, continue to explore the more avant garde and modern fur designs wearing a fox vest and sheared mink jacket, while burlesque princess Dita Von Teese is the epitome of old world glamour in a smaller cropped mink and black karakul [sheep's fur] jacket, a fabric that's becoming more popular each season.

Kate Hudson sets the style for 'Young Hollywood' in ice white feathered fur. The UK's style guru Trinny Woodhall, Spice Girl Emma Bunton and Dream Girls' star Jennifer Hudson also wrap up in pristine white fox and mink styles for their moment in the spotlight.

Fendi held one of fashion's most high profile parties with a catwalk show on the Great Wall of China, and actresses Kate Bosworth and Ziyi Zhang were there to enjoy the atmosphere.

Both wore stunning monochromatic furs, chevroned sheared mink coat with chinchilla cuffs and a goat and mink tail coat. Kate Moss also rocked the goat and mink tail coat at the Led Zepplin concert.

Julia Roitfield, daughter of French Vogue Editor-in-Chief Carine Roitfield, embodies understated style with a generous sable fur trim.

Hollywood royalty, Sofia Coppola chooses mink, and celebrated indie actress Maggie Gyllenhaal selects fox, but both keep their look low key by matching simple dresses with their classic fur stoles.
