Titan Ind & Titan brand receive India Retail Forum awards

Titan Industries and the Titan brand have just won the following awards:
? Retailer of the Year (Fashion Category): Titan Industries
? Retail Brand of the Year (across Categories): Titan
• For the second year running, Titan Industries, (covering both its brands Titan and Tanishq) won the 'Retailer of the Year' Award in the Fashion Category, held at a glittering function of the India Retail Forum in Mumbai, on September 16, 2005.
• Titan — the brand, also emerged as the winner, by getting the Award for the 'Retail Brand of the Year' across several categories and well established brands.
India Retail Forum is the largest intellectual and information forum for the retail business in India and the Middle East. Images Multimedia which has constituted the Images Awards is a huge retail support organisation with membership across the retail industry in India and the Middle East.
It has publications, research, education, events and awards, all aimed at fostering the growth of the retail industry in India. The selection process involved a nationwide consumer and industry poll and nominations followed by Performance Assessment by IRA Knowledge Partner KSA Technopak.
Who were nominated?
• 'Retailer of the Year' Award in the Fashion Category — Benetton India, Provogue, Madura Garments, Raymond
• Retail Brand of the Year —Westside, Benetton, McDonalds, Raymond Established in 1984 as a joint venture between the Tata Group and the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO), Titan Industries is India's leading watch manufacturer. Its business activities cover watches, clocks and jewellery. The company has built, in a relatively short span of time, an enviable reputation for its corporate practices, products and services. Titan employs around 3,700 personnel, and its manufacturing facilities occupy a built-up area of 33,000 square meters. The company's main manufacturing plants are located at Hosur in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. In addition, it has an assembly unit at Dehra Dun, in the northern state of Uttaranchal, and a unit that produces electronic circuitry for quartz watches in the state of Goa.
