The Goldsmiths' Craftsmanship & Design Awards celebrated its centenary year this week, with Special Patrons, IJL presenting a Fine Jewellery Award.
The Gold winner of this Award, Sarah Herriot, created a striking and innovative 18ct yellow gold ring, reminescent of the high design and manufacture quality jewellery seen each year at the Show.
The Awards featured high profile judges, and guests at the ceremony included respected designers and industry figures such as Shaun Leane, Martyn Pugh and Michael Allchin of the Birmingham Assay Office.
As the premier jewellery show in the UK, IJL are committed to supporting and encouraging bright new talent. Now in their third year as Special Patrons of the GCDA, the Fine Jewellery category presents an excellent opportunity to support and celebrate an additional showcase of cutting edge design.
Chris Hartley, from IJL, comments “We are extremely impressed by the high standard of entries at this year's Awards. Each year at IJL the standard of design goes from strength to strength and it seems that this trend is set to continue.
There is phenomenal creative talent within the UK jewellery industry and it is important to recognise this and support such a prestigious Awards initiative”.
