Following a nationwide search, Kmart's celebrity judging panel has selected Alicia Zitka as the grand prize winner of the Kmart Style Showoff Contest! Alicia from West Springfield, MA wowed the judges to earn the top spot in serving as a fashion ambassador for the brand.
She joins four pre-selected "Showoffs" from blind casting calls held earlier in New York and Los Angeles, all of which have appeared in a national ad campaign that began in April.
Alicia's creativity and originality beat out thousands of entries that were entered on Kmart.com/style. "The contest generated nearly 10,000 entries.
We were thrilled with the response that we received from customers, willing to tell the Kmart style story," said Bill Stewart, Kmart's Chief Marketing Officer.
"Part of our strategy was to get people to rediscover our stores. The Style Showoff provided a great opportunity for us to show customers our commitment to affordable style."
As Kmart's next fashion ambassador, Alicia will receive a once-in-a- lifetime chance to appear in Kmart's national advertising campaigns.
She also won a trip for two to New York City, complete with theater tickets, where she will spend one day working with the brand's private label designers in their Soho-based design center. The grand prize winner received $10,000 in Kmart gift cards to do a little shopping for herself as well.
Among the celebrity judging panel were actress, model, and designer Jaclyn Smith, style extraordinaire Jorge Ramon, Sears Holdings executive apparel designer Lisa Schultz, fashion expert Kiersten Geiger of Glamour Magazine, beauty editor Angelique Serrano of Latina Magazine, and Barbara Bundy, Vice President of FIDM.
