Fashionable women's clothing & accessories producer bebe stores Inc reported retail sales of $48.6 million for the five-week period ended October 1, 2005, an increase of 21.5 percent compared to sales of $40.0 million for the five-week period ended October 2, 2004.

Same store sales for the five-week period ended October 1, 2005 increased 12.3 percent compared to an increase of 17.6 percent for September 2004.

Retail sales for the year-to-date period ending October 1, 2005 were $125.1 million compared to $102.3 million for the year-to-date period ending October 2, 2004, an increase of 22.3 percent. Same store sales for the year-to-date period ending October 1, 2005 increased 17.3 percent compared to an increase of 12.5 percent for the year-to-date period ending October 2, 2004.

As previously communicated, we currently anticipate diluted earnings per share for the first quarter of fiscal 2006 to be in the range of $0.14 to $0.17 per share. Fiscal 2006 guidance excludes the impact of the recent accounting change requiring the expensing of stock based compensation beginning in the first quarter of fiscal 2006.

As of October 1, 2005, finished goods inventory per square foot was approximately 6 percent higher as compared to the prior year.
