'Meet at Agra' - Leather & Footwear Components Fair from Nov 8

Agra is located in North India about 200 Km from Delhi, the Capital of India. Agra is Famous for Two Reasons.

Firstly because Taj Mahal, the First Wonder of the World is located in this City. Agra is the most important Tourist destination of India & is visited by 2 million Tourists every year.

Secondly because of the Footwear Industry. Almost 25 % of Agra's population is directly or indirectly involved with the Footwear industry. It has 80 Modern Factories,150 Semi Mechanized units & about 5000 Cottage units where Footwear is manufactured.

Agra is reported to have daily production capacity of 250000 pairs of different types of Footwear. It is the biggest Centre for producing footwear for the domestic market.

Agra's Export Turn over of leather Footwear is 400 million US Dollars per annum and the industry is growing at steady annual rate of 20-25 %.

Agra Accounts for almost 23 % of total Footwear Exports from India. It is foreseen that Agra's importance in the Indian Footwear sector will grow at a tremendous pace in the coming years.

India International Leather Fair (IILF) at Chennai caters for the Southern part of the Country but there is no such trade fare in North India.

AFMEC has taken an initiative to bring the global suppliers & buyers to a common platform in Agra annually in "Meet at Agra" a Leather, Footwear Components & Technology Fair.

The First Edition of the Fair was held last year on 17th &18th November 2007 & it had received a tremendous response from the Exhibiters as well as the Visitors.

There were 121 Exhibiters from various parts of the country & from Overseas. Because of the excellent business response, all Exhibiters have assured that they will be participating next year also.

This year we will be having the Second Edition of the Fair on 8th & 9th November 2008 with targeted Strength of 350 Exhibiters and about 10,000 to 15,000 Trade Visitors from within the Country & from Overseas.
