Bontrager to introduce cycling shoe with eSoles footbeds

eSoles Custom Footbeds, the world's leading authority in the science and development of semi-custom and custom footbeds, announced that it is partnering with Trek Bicycle Corporation and its Bontrager brand of cycling shoes to create the most advanced cycling footwear solution in the world.

Next week, Bontrager will introduce its highly anticipated cycling shoe with eSoles customizable footbeds. The eSoles eFit footbed, which will be found in all Bontrager shoes, can be customized by the consumer using the eSoles self-guided 3D TruCapture Kiosk Scanning System that will identify specific customized inserts for an additional charge.

eSoles' advanced 3D TruCapture Kiosk Scanning System utilizes a patented pneumatic air pillow to capture a 3D and 2D image of the feet.

This digital image is then analyzed against eSoles' proprietary scientific algorithms to determine the optimal combination of eFit components (i.e., metatarsal pad, arch length and arch height) to build a customized footbed on-site.

It is by far the most advanced system for foot imaging and analysis anywhere, and the process takes less than 5 minutes to complete.

Consumers will also have the option to purchase an additional upgrade to their Bontrager shoe by ordering a fully custom ePro footbed.

This 100% custom option is the Official Footbed of USA Cycling and is the same footbed used by the Discovery Channel Professional Cycling Team in their 2007 Tour de France victory. ePro fully custom footbeds are shipped directly to consumer in five to seven days.
