Comparable revenues at Neiman Marcus Direct up

Neiman Marcus Inc announced the following preliminary company-wide revenues for August 2008.
For the 4 weeks ended on August 30, 2008, the company reported total revenues of $285 million compared to $283 million in August 25, 2007. Total revenues increased 0.7%. Comparable revenues for the 4 weeks ended on August 30, 2008 reported $281 million compared to $283 million in August 25, 2007. Comparable revenues decreased 0.5%.
In the four-week August period, comparable revenues in the Specialty Retail Stores segment, which includes Neiman Marcus Stores and Bergdorf Goodman, decreased 0.4 percent. Revenue growth trends were the strongest in the Company's stores in Texas and New York City. The merchandise categories in the Specialty Retail Stores segment that performed the strongest included precious jewelry and women's fine apparel.
Comparable revenues at Neiman Marcus Direct in the four-week August period decreased 1.1 percent. The top selling merchandise categories in the Direct Marketing segment included women's apparel, shoes, handbags and men's.
Neiman Marcus Inc plans to report fourth quarter and fiscal year 2008 financial results on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The Company will host a conference call the same day that will be simultaneously webcast.
Neiman Marcus Inc operations include the Specialty Retail Stores segment and the Direct Marketing segment. The Specialty Retail Stores segment consists primarily of Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman stores.
