In anticipation of Anthropologie's expansion in Europe, Urban Outfitters Inc announced the appointment of James Bidwell to the newly created position of Managing Director, Anthropologie Europe.

"We are excited that James will spearhead Anthropologie's growth in Europe and the UK," said URBN CEO, Glen T. Senk. "James is a perfect fit with Anthropologie's culture, which values creativity, initiative and a genuine love of the customer. His significant experience in brand development and marketing combined with his global perspective will make him essential to Anthropologie's successful expansion abroad."

Mr. Bidwell joins Anthropologie from Visit London, formerly the London Tourist Board, where he has served as Chief Executive since 2005. Prior to Visit London, he held the position of Marketing Director at Selfridges.

"Anthropologie is an amazing concept, business and brand," said James Bidwell. "By combining a truly innovative and inspirational store experience with highly creative and engaging product, I am sure that Anthropologie will be as well received in London and the rest of Europe as it is in the United States." Mr. Bidwell continued, "I am thrilled to be joining an exceptional team at a very exciting time. This is a fantastic opportunity."

Mr. Bidwell will report to Glen Senk, Chief Executive Officer of URBN and be based at the brand's new London office.
