EDF grants to develop PIFD project in Johar town Lahore

The 53rd meeting of the Board of Administrators of Export Development Fund (EDF) approved various projects amounting to Rs.243 million for promotion of exports in various sectors.

The meeting was held in the committee room of Ministry of Commerce on 9th October, 2008 under the chairmanship of Ch. Ahmed Mukhtar, Federal Minister for Defense, Commerce and Textile Industry.

The Projects include construction of Pakistan Institute of Fashion & Design at Johar town Lahore (Rs.190 million) and Budget of Horticulture Development & Export Board Lahore for the year 2007-08 and 2008-09 (Rs.48.478).

The participants of the meeting included Senator Ilyas Ahmad Bilour, Secretary Commerce , Secretary Textile Industry, Chief Executive Trade Development Authority of Pakistan , Secretary TDAP, representatives of Ministries of Finance, Food & Agriculture, Industries & Production, State Bank of Pakistan and Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Presidents of Karachi Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Sarhad Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairmen of prominent trade associations.
