Arjun Saluja's Rishta label presented one of the most innovative collections for Spring/Summer 2009 at Lakme Fashion Week.

The designer pushed the creative envelope to the ultimate limits, as he started the show with a stylish black kimono top with pleated collar and loose pants. What followed were garments that had not only great detailing techniques; but also amazing construction and mix of colours and fabrics for both sexes.

Large round lapels for men's jackets, cowled Jodhpuri trousers worn with short sleeve safari jackets, balloon Jodhpuris with fabric layers teamed with multi striped shirts, a pale blue linen sailor blouson and pant, yellow cotton shirt with intricate detailing worn with flowing pants with attached giant pockets, and an all white wide harem pant and shirt creation will all give men's wear a more futuristic direction.

For women's wear there were pleated bibs and square epaulets, a stylish brown crepe flap dress, a white Greek inspired draped gown, ankle length bubble skirt with innovatively striped shirt, and a smart brown pleated zipped dress.

Cowls appeared all over the garments for both sexes and even the choir boy collar was added to a sexy halter dress. Sleeves, blouses and dresses were draped lavishly like the yellow chiffon musketeer shirt with giant billowy sleeves. Each garment had something that was totally interesting and amazing with pleats, pin tucks, fabric flaps and styling.

Arjun Saluja has always managed to give something that is quite extraordinary as far as his seasonal collections are concerned, and for Spring/Summer 2009, his futuristic line for both men and woman will create show stopping moments for the wearer.
