Lux, the beauty soap of the film stars and Vikram Phadnis presented the most stylish fashion extravaganza for Spring/Summer 2009 ever seen at Lakme Fashion Week.

The curtain rose for the greatest fashion circus with Vikram Phadnis unleashing a collection that was a riot of colour and style.

The opening of the show was a scintillating dance performance by Shiamak Davar's ace pair of who moved with graceful precision to set the stage for the beautiful Shriya Saran, South India's super star in a gorgeous red crepe layered gown with gleaming crystal bustier.

Soon the Harlequin inspired dresses, gowns, minis, skirts in multicoloured, designs, patterns and fabrics enthralled the audience.

The diverse print ruffled minis, checked and tiered dresses, the turq brocade Capris, shaded baby doll numbers, geometric beaded dresses, glitzy sequined sheaths and skirts, the phulkari embroidered shifts all came in quick succession to reveal the versatile talents of Vikram at the design board.

Men's wear was flamboyant with Zouave pants in hot shades of orange, green and yellow, white linen jackets with 3D embroidery and an ornate sherwani.

To add excitement to the men's wear section there was the stylish ace bowler Shreeshant who walked confidently down the ramp in a 2 button pinstriped black suit to thunderous applause.

The show stopper was the Lux beauty and the darling of the masses, Priyanka Chopra who glided down the ramp in an ethereal white net layered and tiered gown with a faux leather bustier.

But there was more excitement for the audience when top award winning choreographer, Shiamak Davar rocked the hall with his soulful rendering of "Touched By An Angel".

Dressed in a stylish black velvet jacket with lavish crystal embroidery, Shiamak then went on to give a rocking performance of "I Am Alive", as his whole dance troupe set the ramp on fire with their foot tapping moves, which even got the audience on their feet and dancing in the aisles.

It was not surprising that the last show on the fourth day of Lakme Fashion week was called "ShowTime". After all with Lux and Vikram Phadnis teaming up; it had to be a fashion extravaganza that was indeed one of the most memorable evenings seen by Mumbai's fashionistas.
