Perfume house Coty to utilize IRI InfoScan

Dec '08
Information Resources Inc (IRI), the leading global provider of consumer, shopper, and market insights for consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail, and healthcare industries, announced that Coty Inc is the latest beauty client to renew its business with IRI.

Under the multi-year agreement, IRI will provide marketplace information and business insights for all of Coty's business units. With such leading brands as Stetson, David and Victoria Beckham, Sally Hansen and Rimmel, Coty is a leader in global beauty and is the world's largest fragrance company.

“We're very pleased to extend our partnership with IRI and combine all of our businesses under one supplier, including the new Sally Hansen and New York Color businesses that we recently acquired from Del Labs,” says Coty Beauty President George Cleary.

In addition to consumer panel and audit services, Coty will utilize IRI InfoScan. This census-based scanner tracking service will provide Coty with high quality data and insights to fuel more effective business analyses and decision support processes at retail. InfoScan leverages data from more than 44,000 stores on a weekly basis across the grocery, drug, mass merchandiser and convenience channels to deliver best-in-class market intelligence from which Coty can drive its business forward.

“Our extended relationship with Coty solidifies IRI as the powerhouse in the beauty market information solutions space,” says Steve Johnson, executive vice president and general manager, IRI Healthcare and Personal Care Solutions Group. “IRI's rich consumer insights will empower Coty to quickly identify potential issues and opportunities, take action against them, and ultimately leverage this information to win at the shelf.”

Coty was created in Paris in 1904 by Francois Coty who is credited with founding the modern fragrance industry.
