Dec '08
After an extraordinary season in October 2008, India's most prestigious fashion and trade event - Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW), Fall–Winter 2009 season will be held from Friday, 27th March to Tuesday, 31st March '09.

In an endeavor to engage better with the Fashion Designer and Buyer Community this forthcoming season, at a bigger venue, LFW will be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Mumbai, one of the world leaders in luxury business hotels.

In the past two seasons the participating designers have increased 31.5 percent from 57 in March '08 to 77 designers in October '08. LFW is growing rapidly season on season. Hence the need for a larger and multi-dimensional venue. Grand Hyatt will cater to the event with its elegant architecture, multi-dimensional lifestyle complex and large state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Highlights of New Venue;
•Main show area (MSA) with a seating capacity of 600+ invitees
•To promote the business of fashion, space for 100+ designer stalls
•Increased ramp length of 65 feet, as per international standards
•Five hospitality lounges
•Discounted room rates for visiting guests
•All facilities, at one venue
•Outstanding hospitality & facilities of the Grand Hyatt Hotel

The above make LFW the 1st choice for the participation of Designers and Buyers in India.

Anil Chopra, Advisor, Lakmé says, “Lakmé Fashion Week is growing from strength to strength with each season. We will offer a seamless display of a fashion culture that knows no borders to the ever increasing stakeholders of designers, buyers, sponsors and fashionistas at our new and outstanding venue, Grand Hyatt.”

Vikram Raizada, Vice-President and Head of Fashion, IMG quotes, “LFW always experiments with unique and innovative ways to redefine the future of fashion and reach out to its audiences. The unique presentation being planned at the Grand Hyatt will give designers an opportunity to display their Fall-Winter 2009 collection to an enhanced audience of potential buyers, a plethora of media and their peers in the grand spaces of the hotel.”

R. Narayan, Director of Marketing, Grand Hyatt, Mumbai says, “Grand Hyatt is delighted to play host to the most prestigious fashion event – Lakmé Fashion Week 2009. The world class facility will host the Fall Winter 2009 show on the fashion calendar in its range of indoor and outdoor facilities that will be transformed into a fashion hub frequented by illustrious guests and fashion gurus from India and around the world.” He further states, “Along with Lakme Fashion Week, we look forward to showcasing fashion and hospitality at its best.”
