LFP renews concession for 'Just for Travellers'

LFP-Lojas Francas de Portugal & ANA-Aeroportos de Portugal SA announced the renewal of the concession agreement between the two companies until December 2014. With this deal, The Nuance Group's Portuguese joint venture secures its presence at Portuguese airports over the next five years. The company will continue to invest in exclusive products and services as well as in the use of new concepts, always focusing on the satisfaction of airport passengers.

Nuno Amaral, LFP's Managing Director, declared that this renewal "reflects the recognition by ANA that LFP is a profitable and credible partner who understands the particular needs of the national airports & is willing to invest together with ANA in order to continuously improve the airport retail scene in Portugal. Over the next six years, LFP plans to further invest in the development of its retail operations."

Luis Rodolfo, ANA's Retail Manager said that "LFP is present in six airports managed by ANA and has a good understanding of the profile of the customers in each airport as well as good logistics and operational management,which is being stimulated by its new management team & the know-how of its shareholders, The Nuance Group and TAP Portugal. This has enabled LFP to ensure a good level of service and an increasing profitability of the commercial space in recent years. We are also pleased that this partner is motivated and aligned with the strategic plans that ANA has for each of its airports."

2008 was a year of major investments for LFP, due to the company's re-branding of all its shops under the "Just for Travellers" brand with its unique and differentiated shopping offer for traditional core duty free categories as well as for specialist categories. In 2008, two new concepts were launched in Lisbon, bringing retail into new locations where previously there had been no shopping offer: "The Best of Just for Travellers" in the non-Schengen area and "Last minute Just for Travellers", the first shop in the arrivals area. The pre-order service at Lisbon airport is another novelty from LFP, which allows the passenger to start shopping through even before entering the airport.

LFP has been operating at Portuguese airports since 1995 and employs 360 staff. The company currently operates 17 shops under the “Just for Travellers” brand and manages onboard sales for TAP Portugal and SATA International.
