Trend machine bluezone: Playground wgsn.com and Invista-Lycra blend into a vibrating bluezone world, which will be held under the “Playground” motto for summer 2010. Between dodgems, old carousels, retro pinball machines, rollercoaster elements and games consoles with Pacman-Tetris-Tennis, things in Hall 5 will move at a fast, almost dizzy pace in a very loud atmosphere. The trends for summer 2010 promise a denim renaissance, among others with robust, down-to-earth, authentic jeans and moon and arty-washed effects. At the same time a whole host of feather-weight, bleached lightweights will feature in the denim ranges as they will in the flatwoven fabrics. All this combined presents a scenario which is somewhere between Coney Island, the big city casinos and the dusty highways, creating such a puzzling and surreal impression just like the films from David Lynch. Here “Tweenagers” and “Girl-Women” look for fun and total freedom. This is where soft hippies and masquerade enthusiasts meet, a breeding ground for a lot of scary and weird stuff.
The fabrics: Bleached ocean blue ranging from light blue to almost white, bold destroyed effects, fabrics in washed medium colours, arty and moon-washed fabrics, coloured and washed-out denims, striking graphics, colourful prints, raw denim, but dark, denim shirts, glitter effects.
A catering tip: The Munich delicatessen caterer Käfer will be present in the bluezone with a new restaurant. This top food guarantees to reduce the stress of a hard day at the fair. In addition, there is however also the popular Free Lunch in the bluezone.
