New women's area to feature leading brands in Premium Market

MAGIC, the world's largest fashion trade event, will set an unparalleled stage for womenswear this February with the debut of Premium at WWDMAGIC, a new dedicated area featuring the top premium brands in today's women's market. Sitting alongside hundreds of resources from women's sportswear to contemporary, juniors, young contemporary, dresses, outerwear, eCollection, and more, Premium at WWDMAGIC will allow retailers to enjoy the most complete shopping experience in the women's market, all under one roof at the Las Vegas Convention Center's North Hall.

An extension of several new developments and strategies in place for the Marketplace's February 2009 shows, the launch of Premium at WWDMAGIC will simultaneously debut with Premium at MAGIC, a new area on the men's showfloor, geared to the same contemporary and premium resources. In turn, PROJECT Las Vegas, long considered the top industry event for leading premium and contemporary brands, will narrow its focus and edit its offerings to concentrate on more advanced directional brands, allowing many of its loyal exhibitors the opportunity to grow their exposure on MAGIC's new Premium show floor.

“For more than 75 years, MAGIC's show floor has been a reflection of what's happening in the fashion industry and it has never been more crucial that we recognize the market's needs and adapt accordingly,” said Chris DeMoulin, President of MAGIC International and Executive Vice-President, Advanstar Fashion Group. “The launch of Premium at WWDMAGIC is proof that the premium market is one of the most exciting, dynamic segments of the industry, and we want to ensure that these brands are able to foster growth and prosperity in an environment that suits their needs like no other.”

Premium at WWDMAGIC will host approximately 6,000 sq. ft. of curated resources in a new dedicated area, featuring its own unique look, lounge and merchandising, allowing retailers easy access to finding what's next and what's new this season. Premium at WWDMAGIC will feature the latest looks from Betsey Johnson, Desigual, Mink Pink, Chaudry, Deux Lux, Dolce Vita, Faryl Robin, Thursday Island, Velvet Heart, Royal Plush, Sheiki Jeans, Brandi & Melvill, Jordi Labanda, Love Shop, Mink Pink, Ani Mondari, Brokedown, Isi by Jane Wang, Laquette, Matiko, Nicole Bridger, Orion, Traffic People, Yvette Mandelle, and Zensei.

February 2009 MAGIC Marketplace will run from February 17-19.
