Zubair Kirmani's Autumn Winter Collection at WLIFW '09 was presented on the ramp with Gulzar's poetry. And it sounded magical.
A rich rustic presentation, the collection had all the earthy elements in unusual combinations. Smoky grey was combined with earthy rust. Shimmering velvet combined with slinky satin. Bold graphic prints combined with circular prints. It had fine detailing, all giving a very contemporary feel to the collection.
Technically brilliant, the garments had a definite structure and had a lot of focus on line. Each garment had interesting details like strategically placed box pleats, tucks on tops, burned out dot patterns on men's tops and slim pants with emphasis on fit. The jackets had single button asymmetrical openings.
The presentation had a very earthy-poetic feel to it, with the background music creating a fluid motion on a lusciously raw, undulating terrain.
