The current placement season is witnessing a big leap in the number of participating companies at Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI).

“The students are managing to bag diverse offers despite the global economic downturn with pay packets a tad lower from last year. This is perhaps, because the job market is down and companies are trying to negotiate on the salaries.” - Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI.

Despite the global economic slowdown, the institute has witnessed the presence of major international retail, leather goods and footwear companies this season for the various professional programmes conducted through Centre for Retail Management (CRM), Centre for Leather Goods & Accessories Design (CLGAD) & Centre for Footwear Design & Technology (CFDT) at the institute.

So far, around 70% students of CRM, 55% - 60% students of CLGAD and more than 55% students of CFDT have been placed in respective industries. The students are placed in their dream organizations with the desired profile.

According to Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI, “Due to the value based education culture at FDDI, the students are managing to bag diverse offers despite the global economic downturn with pay packets a tad lower from last year. This is perhaps, because the job market is down and companies are trying to negotiate on the salaries.”

Puma, Ritu Wears, Lacoste, Bata India Ltd., Nike India, Alpine, Madura Garments, Van Heusan, Cobra Group, TNG, Leather Tech, Liberty, Jasper India, Valencia Apparels, NA Associates, Versatile Group, Layap & Hgnis, Levis, Café Coffee Day, Tata Teleservices Ltd., Japan Airlines, Swarovski India Pvt.
