Practically Natural to feature eco-fashion

Practically Natural, an event focused on health and the environment, announced Cary as home to its inaugural conference. The event will feature prominent speakers, a green marketplace, an eco-fashion show and networking opportunities.

The conference will take place Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Cary's Prestonwood Country Club from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Practically Natural is designed to help consumers make informed choices resulting in a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle. The conference will provide practical information regarding consumer products, food, cosmetics, organics and textiles.

Carrie Reuben, event organizer and president of Organicality Inc commented, “Practically Natural is about empowering people to make educated purchasing decisions that have a positive impact on health and the environment.”

Conference speakers include:
• “Smart Green” author Jonathan Estes who will provide insight on corporate sustainability.
• Jane Houlihan, vice president for research at the Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit research organization dedicated to protecting human health and the environment.
• Melissa McCullough, an ecologist and policy analyst with the EPA, who will discuss chemicals and her “green” home.

Leah Goodnight, director of marketing for The Umstead Hotel and Spa, added, "The Triangle is a perfect place to debut Practically Natural. We were excited to be selected to sponsor as The Umstead is committed to living more naturally, for ourselves and the environment."
