The Alzheimer's Association, New York City Chapter's 2009 "Forget-Me-Not" Gala, to be held at The Pierre in New York City on Monday, June 1, 2009, has extended special recognition to Kwiat, the diamond company, for its sustained generosity and support.
Lou Ellen Barkan, President and CEO of the chapter, congratulated Kwiat for its charitable and consistent giving to the Association. In addition to donating auction items which are highly prized, this year some of the Gala organizers and co-chairs will be wearing jewels from the Kwiat classic diamond collection.
"We are excited to have this opportunity to share in the lovely elegance and style during this special night as we honor and remember caregivers, patients, scientists and friends. Kwiat was introduced to us by Board Member and Co-Chair of the Gala, Anne McBride Schreiber whose mother was a Kwiat customer and the reason for Mrs. McBride Schreiber's passion to the cause. We thank and enjoy their benevolence," Barkan concluded.
For over a century, Kwiat has focused on creating jewelry that would be passed from generation to generation. Starting in New York, the company has grown to international prominence but it strictly adheres to time-honored techniques to unlock the maximum brilliance of diamonds from within.
This sense of family, dedication to excellence and remembrance of its company heritage has special meaning as the Alzheimer's Association seeks to raise funds to support essential programs and services that benefit the more than 250,000 people in New York City diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, as well as their family members and professional caregivers.
