Students were given an opportunity to showcase their semester end Visual Merchandising work where they displayed their individual portfolio's.
According to Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI, “The objective of the VM competition was to infuse creativity with more accuracy and precision keeping in view of the customer expectations since Visual Merchandising is a creative occupation and success in this field depends on a person's ability to infuse creativity into every part.”
Students worked on an array of colour stories using innovative props etc. The juxtapositioning of design elements, principles with merchandise was well organized.
This includes combining product, environment, and space into a stimulating and engaging display to encourage the sale of a product/ service.
Young turks exhibited their creative talent through varied themes like urban life, ruff & tuff, Common Wealth Games, playing cards, wedding etc.
Mr. Shashi Bhushan Shukla, IRS, Secretary, FDDI remarked, “The competition was organized to assess the capabilities of the students to make the own assortment unique, attractive and fascinating for broad customer groups.”
Display conjured everyone as its look was fresh and could have been easily adapted by the industry. Display message was sharp, focused & well presented.
Students were motivated & overwhelmed by the esteemed presence of faculty and management. Innovative concepts were appreciated by the Retail Industry and students were offered internship with top VM professionals.
