Stefan Hafner, the Italian jeweller to the stars, presents its scintillating Basel 2009 collection Ortensia featuring diamonds, rubies and pink and blue sapphires on white gold settings in a grand array of pendant chains, chandelier earrings and rings. Ortensia meaning 'Garden' or 'garden lover' in Latin is a jewellery collection that reproduces the blossoming of spring from the development of a delicate bud to the full magnificence of a flower in bewitching floral adornment for all jewellery lovers.

Commenting on the collection, Ms Ilaria Furlotti, CEO of Stefan Hafner said, “Stefan Hafner jewels are unique in many ways as they draw inspiration from several disciplines such as architecture, theatre, fashion, graphic design and photography, in addition to the rare talent of its goldsmiths. Highly contemporary yet classic in essence, the latest pieces exude joy while heightening beauty. Its Basel launch Ortensia collection creates an intensity of various colours in graded colours of semi-precious stones that incorporate the play of changing reflections.”

Ortensia recreates a variety of blooms in the bountiful colours of nature in a delicate manner that captures their transient beauty. In its charming rings for instance, lavish blossoms are recreated with tiny 'petals' of pear-shaped rubies and sapphires, brought to life by the presence of a butterfly at the centre! Carefully and individually selected, Hafner orchestrates his stones in perfect harmony while emphasizing their audacious hues.

Highly contemporary, the atelier designs jewellery with an inherent lightness in its designs thanks to its team and its rare passion for creativity, combined with the expertise of traditionally schooled goldsmiths and artisans who make up the design house. Hafner's style is often hailed as 'New Classic', combining all the essential elements while definitely holding its value far into the future with its fresh and elegant approach to the art of jewellery.

In the collection's long and 'dripping' chandelier earrings Hafner twirls several floral features to produce a jewel of pure enticement. While in its pendant chain it dangles an orb-like bouquet of tiny blooms with several butterflies buzzing around it! The season of spring being the inspiration for the Ortensia collection, it is apparent with just one glance in the dazzling choice gems of diamonds and gems of various colours which combine beautifully in white gold settings, to pay grand tribute to a woman's penchant for fashion.

For over 40 years, Stefan Hafner has continued to captivate jewellery lovers with its marvelous creations, inspired by diverse themes ranging from legendary art and to flowers. For its outstanding achievements in jewellery design and craftsmanship, the brand has been recognized many times by prestigious bodies such as the American Jewellery Awards Gala and the Couture Design Collection Las Vegas.

Pluck blooms of bewitchment from Stefan Hafner's new Basel collection Ortensia now available at the Stefan Hafner Boutique at BurJuman Centre and at select Damas Les Exclusives Boutiques in Dubai.
