Six young designers to be competing for Swiss Textiles Award

The former winners will be present on the anniversary event evening. Embedded in the show, they will report on their own work, career and experience since they won the Swiss Textiles Award.

Isabel Toledo and Rodarte as Special Guests
Isabel Toledo will be a special guest on the evening. This designer of Cuban origin has been styling garments for the past twenty years. She has risen to particular fame because of the fact that Michelle Obama wears her garments, for example the mustard yellow dress on the day of her husband Barack Obama's official inauguration – made incidentally using guipure embroidery by the Swiss Forster-Rohner company.

The evening in the Schiffbau will be enlivened by a presentation of the new collection by Rodarte (www.rodarte.net), last year's Swiss Textiles Award winner.

Vintage Gallery on Fashion Night
In cooperation with the Swiss Textile Federation, the Zurich couturière and initiator of Caraque-le fil rouge, Rosmarie Amacher, will be presenting a vintage gallery at the 10th anniversary event with dresses by great fashion creators of the 20th and 21st centuries: dresses bearing prestigious names (Chanel, Balenciaga, Dior or Yves Saint Laurent on the designer side in cooperation with labels such as Abraham, Jakob Schlaepfer, Forster Rohner or Fabric Frontline among the fabric manufacturers) as contemporary witnesses to several generations and outstanding Swiss craftsmanship.
