FWP to bring huge exposure to Portland Fashion Week

Portland Fashion Week is excited to announce a new partnership with Fashion Wire Press, an online media company and global runway photography firm.

Fashion Wire Press (FWP) licenses and distributes fashion week photos and video from the world's premiere Fashion Events for both commercial and private use. FWP shoots for the world's household names in high fashion, and distributes images to major print and online media across the globe.

FWP Founder/CEO Ed Kavishe remarks, "I have been following the surge of Portland Fashion Week with keen interest from New York -- the high quality of set-production and national and international designers... We decided to extend our already long runway shooting season past Paris fashion week, by adding Portland because we believe in what PFW is doing for the industry and love to capture and spread the gospel on it.” “It is a boon for Portland, Portland Fashion Week, and its designers, who can boost the value of their marketing materials to a whole new level” stresses PFW Executive Producer Prasenjit Tito Chowdhury.

Speaking of media, Portland Fashion Week is proud to announce our partnership with former New York publishing and branding veteran, Marti Zimlin. As PFW's Media Consultant she has secured partnerships with two national media outlets - SPIN and Surface Magazines.

"An event as professional and exciting as PFW will thrive off of national exposure that will create excitement and awareness for the extraordinary talent coming out of the Pacific Northwest,” says Zimlin, who moved to Portland seven months ago with a wide array of fashion, branding, and interactive experience in the New York media industry. "For twenty-five years SPIN has been there first distinguishing whats next from music to fashion through its tastemaking pages. Being engaged by a partner with an ethos like that, as well as being a huge & influential national media presence, is great for Portland and PFW." "Surface," she remarks, "helps define cutting edge design and emerging talent, by supporting organizations like PFW that aspire to those goals."

The premiere magazine of music and style, SPIN, who will be celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2010, will provide extensive promotion across its various media properties, bringing a new level of exposure to the PFW brand and participating designers.

For 15 years, readers have looked through the curatorial eyes of Surface for coverage that is the definitive American source for all that is inventive and compelling in the design world. PFW Executive Producer Chris Cone writes, "Surface Magazine's multiple in-book and online exposures for PFW will put its participants into the hands of an expansive audience of design & fashion connoisseurs, and other media & style business leaders who look to Surface for the best and brightest in design."
