'Pretty Woman' by Barbara Orbison to hit Houston holiday season

For the Houston holiday retail season, the new "Pretty Woman" perfume by Barbara Orbison will be sold exclusively at The Cardinal Boutique. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each bottle of "Pretty Woman,", will be donated to the Renal Cancer Research Department at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
A Texas-native, Roy Orbison had a string of hit songs that made him the only American artist to stay at the top of the charts during the British Invasion. Of all his music, "Pretty Woman" has enjoyed the liveliest diversification. From its initial status as a worldwide hit, it has been a constant presence on classic radio. "Pretty Woman" has been recorded by numerous artists during the last four decades and in the 90s, the song led the way to the blockbuster film, "Pretty Woman," starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.
This modern-day American fairytale became one of the most popular films of all time. Now, "Pretty Woman" has evolved once more, thanks to the late rock star's wife and successful businesswoman, Barbara Orbison, and her dream to create a classic fragrance that would provide a melody for every woman's fairytale.
Robin Senglemann, owner and manager of The Cardinal Boutique, has announced that her "Pretty Woman" retail promotion will celebrate all of Roy Orbison's music in conjunction with special perfume gift sets that will be available to customers starting now and continuing throughout the holiday season. Specially-priced packages-with-purchase include replicas of Roy Orbison's iconic Ray Bay-style sunglasses, Orbison's "Greatest Hits" CD and the acclaimed "Black and White" HBO/Cinemax Sessions classic starring Orbison with Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Brown, Bonnie Raitt and kd lang, among others.
Limited gift sets will also include the perfume packaged with the highly acclaimed 2008 release of the four CD collector's box set, "Roy Orbison: The Soul of Rock and Roll," which features the hits, "Pretty Woman," "Running Scared," "It's Over," "Blue Bayou," and "Crying," among others, as well as rare, early recordings from the 50s through the 80s and a never-before-released song from Orbison's final 1988 performance.

Barbara was involved in every step of the development of the fragrance from its bottle design in Paris to the formulation of the scent. Like the notes of a song, the fragrance opens to reveal a melody of florals, spices and woods. The top note introduces a crisp bergamot accent and it continues with a vivacious middle note blend of stargazer lily, red rose and carnation, releasing a base note that is a harmonious mixture of fresh amber, patchouli, vanilla, atlas cedar and sacred incense.
