Speaking about his latest theme lines he elaborated that the Autumn Winter 2010 collection titled “Sensawunda Phase-2” (Sense of Wonder), further explores the idea of synthesizing natural and man-made elements to construct future possibilities in fashion and clothing. Vinyl trims, functional pleating and contractile draping along with alternate methods and materials of surface value addition, define a wardrobe in transit.
He added by saying, “The focus of the collection is on hybridization of the amorphous organic and geometric streamlined forms. Playing with genre contamination adds interest to a day to evening wear line with an emphasis on separates and the art of assembling a look. A deep but frosted color palette includes charcoal grey, plum, bondi blue,raspberry and toupe.”
He further explained by saying, “Frequently invoked in discussions of science fiction, the 'sense of wonder' is an experience unique to the genre. It is an emotional reaction to the reader suddenly confronting, understanding, or seeing a concept anew in the context of new information”.
Next we asked him to share what all key trend directions he foresees for Autumn- Winter 2010, to which he said that, “Autumn- Winter is lot of purple, Aubergine, bondi blue and frosted tones of dark colors. Military style construction is coming back in a big way and so is layering. Shorts are a carry forward from summer and will last for a couple of seasons more. Draping continues (less of goddess style and more of tribal style). Vintage graphics are also seeing a new interpretation with a graphic twist”.
Continuing the discussion further we asked Ritesh to reveal what all styles and trends are exciting him the most for the upcoming season to which he observed, “Utility detailing on evening wear and distressed rough bling” being the most interesting developments”.
To conclude this very interesting interview, we asked him to name a few wardrobes must haves for the coming Autumn-Winter 2010, to which he named Trench coat in a shirt weight fabric, lots of shorts, drapy oversize cardigan in fine knits, layered transparent over solid blouses and interesting takes on women-wear trousers as some essentials, to work out the look for Autumn Winter 2010.
