Trade & Industries Department, Government of Hong Kong has issued a Commercial Information Circular No. 468/2005 on the revised CEPA Rules of Origin for watches and registration of Hong Kong brand watches, through the official website.

As foreshadowed in the Certificate of Origin Circular No. 8/2005 (Commercial Information Circular No. 434/2005) dated 25 October 2005, the Mainland and Hong Kong have agreed to relax the existing CEPA rules of origin (ROOs) for watches by waiving the 30% value-added content requirement for watches of Hong Kong brand names.

This circular informs the trade on the definition of Hong Kong brand, and sets out the procedures for application and registration of Hong Kong brand watches.
