The High School of Fashion Industries is being celebrated for the second consecutive year by the Creative Writing Committee of the National Arts Club. The event will take place June 11th, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the National Arts Club.
The Creative Writing committee of the National Arts Club honors a New York City School each year for their creative abilities. Students write essays (or poems) about the inspiration for their clothing designs. The High School of Fashion Industries was last year's winner and again this year's winner. This is the first time a school has been honored twice in a row.
Mannequins dressed in this year's winning High School of Fashion Industries Golden Needle competition will be on display. Experts from the fashion industry judge the competition resulting in this year's eight winning designs. In addition, an exceptional fashion show on DVD which showcases senior students' works will be played during the event.
It is a collective win for the school which receives a certificate that is awarded to the school. No monetary awards are presented. It is an honor to receive the award as a public high school in New York City.
