For her contribution to the fashion world, popular fashion designer, Ritu Kumar will be honoured in Spain.
The Indian cultural centre in Spain, Casa de la India, will be honouring Kumar along with Spanish fashion designer, Elyo Berhanyer, during the Valladolid de Moda Fashion Week, which will be held in Madrid and next month in Valladolid.
Kumar will be showcasing 10 Indian apparels with complex designs, clubbed, with a range of metallic add-ons, which are a part of the Ritu Kumar Couture Collection.
Kumar is also going to partake in the first-ever, India-Spain Fashion Professionals meeting, which is going to be held in Madrid. The meet is aimed at providing a platform to talk about a common commercial cooperation and cultural, industrial and educational strategy amidst the two nations in the fashion world.
In her statement, Kumar avers that, the honour bestowed upon her under the name, 'homage to an Indian designer' was a welcome sign depicting the reach of India's fashion pan-global. She was also delighted to be a part of the first India-Spain fashion meet and will be showcasing her apparels that are rich with Indian craft at the venue in Spain.
Designer, Jivi Sethi and others from the Indian Institute of Fashion Technology will be accompanying Kumar in Spain.
