St. John ropes in Kate Winslet as new face

The luxury knitwear brand, St. John has roped in actress Kate Winslet as its brand ambassador.
The actress replaced Angelina Jolie and Karen Elson who formerly endorsed the brand.
Reports regarding a row between the brand and Jolie started coming last year, when some of the media channels claimed that, Jolie had some issues regarding the outfits that she was required to put on for the brand.
The brand managers said that they roped in Winslet to endorse the 2011 line as, she best exemplifies the brand's contemporary sensibility.
On the other hand, Winslet said that, she took up the offer as she feels that the brand symbolizes the dressing and living style of today's women. She said that the brand's collection is stylish and elegant, and that she is thrilled to be associated with the brand.
Renowned fashion photographer Craig McDean has been engaged to shoot the new advertisements for the brand starring Winslet. The new advertisements would go on air in the US from September.
