Pawan Sachdeva and SVA by Sonam and Paras Modi offered collections of great diversity at the recent Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) in partnership with FDCI. Pawan Sachdeva’s ‘Infinity’ collection was all about timeless, futuristic creativity. Displaying a line of 30 finely crafted, layered ensembles in fluid fabrics, the base of the colour story was black that symbolised the unknown space, while the cosmic elements with hints of green and peach, brought forth the endless sky aspect.

Opening the show was Harbhajan Singh who strutted his style in an all-black trio, comprising cropped, zippered jacket, trousers and floor skimming coat with the infinity symbol print, the company said in a press release.

The mix and match men’s wear line offered a variety of options. Catering to some sporty relaxed demands, there were zip-up vests, pullover hoodies, turtleneck sweaters, panelled cropped jackets, banker’s shirt with elasticated sleeve detailing and draped bomber jackets.

A romper and jacket appeared with utility pockets, while sleeveless inner vests were ideal combos with asymmetric belted jackets. Pullovers with diagonal zippers made trendy fashion statements, while cropped jackets were ideal for mix and match stories, though jackets were detailed with panels and zips.

Styling and creative touches were also visible for trousers as utility pockets, snap and buckle fastenings were added to cuffed jogger’s pants. The trouser silhouettes were often easy with parallels being in the forefront, while an occasional flare at the hem was added to jumpsuits as an optional choice for leisure wear. A pair of cascading trousers put an emphasis on volumes, drawstring on trouser hemlines added variety, while on the other fashion spectrum, it was the wide leg trousers that scored. Tricky zipper detailing on trouser hemlines added a cheeky touch.

“Our collection ‘Infinity’ is an expression of limitless style and innovation. Each piece in this collection encapsulates the idea that fashion knows no bounds. The colour palette for this collection reflects the cosmic and eternal aspects of infinity and the silhouettes are very trendy and futuristic and fun to wear. The reflectors play a vital role and make the garments stand out completely. It has been a journey through the cosmos of style, where the possibilities are infinite and that summarises our collection,” designer Pawan Sachdeva said.

“I am very happy to be here and be a part of Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI. Although this isn’t my expertise, I enjoyed walking for Sachdeva. This is a great outfit, black is always great,” Harbhajan Singh said.

Sachdeva brought in a quick burst of women’s wear that will appeal to the ladies who want comfort. Jumpsuit, shorts, bralette, over shirts, tees, trousers, mesh shrug, and sweatshirt in the black and white story was a relaxed offering.

The show came to an end with actress Kritika Kamra, as she took the ramp in an all-white trio of cropped top, relaxed parallel pants and a flooring-kissing trench coat with giant lapels.

Sachdeva’s ‘Infinity’ collection gave men’s wear an innovative fashion dimension for the coming season that will appeal to the global buyers.

Designers Sonam and Paras Modi of ‘SVA’ celebrated a decade in the fashion business as they took the audience on a mesmerising stylish journey down memory lane with their men’s and women’s collection ‘Safar’ at Lakmé Fashion Week.

‘Safar’ was an extensive look into the brand’s archives with intricate weaves, motifs and textures that were brought forth with a contemporary vibe. The colours’ story stayed true to ‘SVA’s’ iconic  signature blue and then added merlot with metallic accents that created a glittering, stylish offering.

The exquisite fabrics zeroed in by the designing pair, encompassed exquisite crepe and silk along with sheer organza. The characteristic SVA prints made an arresting visual appearance on the ramp, along with intimate jaals, artistic thread work as well as metallic touches that formed an ornate panorama of beauty.

“Celebrating the decade-long saga of our creative journey, we proudly present to you ‘Safar’ - our exclusive 10th anniversary special collection. Revisiting our mammoth eclectic archive was itself a mesmerising and fulfilling experience. After scouting through decks of embroideries, folders of prints, and a plethora of materials, we selected some of our best and iconic styles and re-imagined them for a fresh take. Safar is not merely a collection, but an experience that transports you to a realm of sartorial wonderment,” Sonam said.

The ‘Safar’ collection for men and women by Sonam and Paras Modi for their label ‘SVA’ was a journey that moved seamlessly to pay homage to present day fashion but with a futuristic direction.
