Lenzing Group, leading global producer of wood-based specialty fibers, showcased its comprehensive range of customized offerings for Indian market at Bharat Tex 2024 exhibition from 26-29 February in New Delhi. This event brought together stakeholders from spinners to brands, showcasing the integration of the entire supply chain. At the exhibition, Lenzing emphasized its unwavering commitment to meeting the evolving needs of Indian customers though its responsibly manufactured and pioneering TENCEL and LENZING ECOVERO fiber brands.

Lenzing has witnessed a thriving interest from Indian spinners, weavers, garment makers, brands, as well as up-and-coming designers who are exploring how to use Lenzing fibers in applications like traditional wear, denim, home textiles, and intimate wear. The company's engagement with India-centric applications, such as sarees, kurtis, and other traditional wear, generated significant interest among visitors. Lenzing's TENCEL LUXE  Filament yarn, TENCEL Lyocell and Modal fibers, along with LENZING ECOVERO Viscose fibers, have equally played a pivotal role in driving these segments. The existing and successful brand presence in these categories served as a testament to consumer preference for Lenzing fiber products in Indian markets.

At the event, Lenzing's emphasis on creating value driven products, such as their Cotton Enhance  line, was well-received by manufacturers who are increasingly seeking more comfort driven options in the textile industry without compromising on the conventional style and aesthetics. Additionally, Lenzing saw encouraging interest from students of leading design institutes like NIFT and NID who visited the booth and were curious to explore the fibers. The students were briefed about important concepts such as circularity, traceability, and the efforts taken by the Lenzing group to meet various global environmental and climate goals.

The event also sparked positive discussions with international buyers who showed interest in sourcing more products made with Lenzing fibers from India. This indicates a promising trend that could help further boost local garment and fabric manufacturing.

Highlighting India's importance as a vital market for Lenzing, Stephan Sielaff, CEO of Lenzing Group, stated that with more than twenty years of active engagement in India, the country holds a significant strategic importance for Lenzing group. Bharat Tex provided an exemplary platform for stakeholders across the textile industry to partner and explore abundant opportunities. Sielaff reaffirmed Lenzing's dedication to sustainable practices, innovation, and contributing positively to the Indian textile sector.

Stephan Sielaff was also part of the International CXO Forum on day 1 of the event, which was chaired by Mr Piyush Goyal, Minister of Textile, Commerce and Industry. The session focused upon strengthening global collaboration with Indian textile industry and finding more opportunities to enhance the country’s textile and garment exports.

Jayaraman, vice president global sales - textile business at Lenzing Group said “Lenzing has been actively developing solutions and partnerships that serve the diverse requirements of Indian textile industry.
