Men's apparel retailer Men's Wearhouse announced its consolidated sales for the fiscal month ended January 28, 2006.
Total sales change percent using Canadian dollars was 1.2 percent, 2.2 percent and 3.4 percent for the month, quarter and year-to-date, respectively.
US comparable store sales results for the month of January were within the company's previously expected range of 3 percent to 4 percent.
Customer traffic was the primary factor in the same store sales increase.
Men's Wearhouse reaffirms its previous fourth quarter expectation of exceeding $0.48 per diluted share.
Due to the impact of Hurricane Katrina, the company has excluded one K&G location that was closed the entire month of January from the comparable store base.
Founded in 1973, Men's Wearhouse is one of North America's largest specialty retailers of men's apparel with 719 stores.
The stores carry a full selection of designer, brand name and private label suits, sport coats, furnishings and accessories, including tuxedo rentals available in the Men's Wearhouse and Moores stores.
