Gujarat's garment makers likely to bag orders from Wal-Mart

World's largest retailer Wal-Mart is planning to purchase the garments manufactured by local producers for its Indian venture with Bharti Enterprises.
Bharti group, which has joined hands with Wal-Mart to set up retail outlets in India, has approached the several manufacturers in Gujarat for supply of garments. Six delegates of Bharti are on visit of the state to to explore prospective suppliers.
The groups target to cater to all age groups and all pockets both low-end as well as high-end market by providing garments for men, women and children with the supplies of all kinds of clothes - from traditional Indian to western and party wear.
According to Gujarat Garment Manufacturers' Association (GGMA) president Sunil Gandhi, local manufacturers are already supplying to major retail stores in the city like Adani, Pantaloons, Westside, Lifestyle and Liverpool.
They have also been holding talks with Reliance for supply of garments for its retail outlets.
