J. Jill Group ropes in Mark Campton as VP Visual Merchandising

Women's multi-channel specialty apparel retailer The J. Jill Group Inc announced the appointment of Mark Campton to the position of Vice President of Visual Merchandising effective July 18, 2005.

In this capacity, Mr. Campton will be responsible for developing and directing the visual merchandising and marketing for J. Jill's retail stores. He will report to Dennis J. Adomaitis, Executive Vice President of Retail Stores.

Mr. Campton, 44, has extensive experience in visual merchandising having held a number of senior level positions during his 25-year career in the retail industry. Most recently, Mr. Campton was Vice President of Visual Merchandising at Parisian, a 41 department store chain and division of Saks Department Store Group.

In this role he led a team of 40 store visual managers and was responsible for developing new strategies based on seasonal merchandising plans, streamlining communication to stores, creating consistency within the chain, and designing themes and sale promotion point-of-purchase to support store-wide events.

Prior to that, Mr. Campton was Director of Visual Merchandising at Toys "R" Us Inc where he coordinated the visual merchandising initiatives for the Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us retail chains.

From 2001 to 2004, Mark served with Payless ShoeSource as Director of Visual Presentation for all of the company's retail locations, including Payless ShoeSource and Parade of Shoes.

Previous experience also includes Creative Director at Cahill Design, Vice President Visual Merchandising and Store Design for Bob's Stores, Director of Visual Merchandising - Manager of Concept Shop with The Timberland Company and Manager of Visual Merchandising and Store Design for Fred Meyer Inc.
