Amartex plans JV for garment making in China

CHANDIGARH:
Amartex Industries Ltd, garment maker is planning to set up a manufacturing facility in China. The company is in the process of setting up two projects in Punjab with a total investment of Rs5,000 crore, a top company official said.
"Talks are in progress with some Chinese companies for setting up a garment plant in a Joint Venture," company's Managing Director, Arun Grover told here.
He said, the company is in the process of acquiring 100 acres land for setting up a textile park and food processing unit in Punjab.
The projects would come up between Zirakpur-Ambala and Rajpura-Ludhiana.
Company was undertaking expansion plan with a capital outlay of Rs180 crore to be financed through IPO being launched in May.
Expansion of its retail chain to 101 outlets from the present 51 is also on the anvil, he said,
Turnover of the company is likely to reachRs200 crore this year as against a target of Rs150 crore, he said.
