Sportswear maker Cache same store July sales lift up 8%

Sportswear maker Cache Inc, a specialty chain of women's apparel stores with 298 stores open, reported July 2005 sales figures.Comparable store sales (sales for stores open at least one year or more) increased 8 percent during the four week July 2005 period, as compared to the same period in 2005. Total sales for the four-week period ended July 30, 2005 increased $2.1 million or 16 percent to $15.4 million.

Comparable store sales increased 4 percent during the 30-week period ended July 30, 2005, as compared to the same period in 2004. Total sales for the 30-week period increased $12.7 million or 10 percent to $144.8 million.

Brian Woolf, Cache's Chairman commented: "They continued their strong sales trends in July by reporting an 8 percent comparable store sales increase for the month. Sales were driven by casual product categories such as denim and peasant styles and accessories. They were pleased to achieve these results with less promotional days."

The Company also noted that it opened 1 new Cache store in July and currently operates 298 Cache and Lillie Rubin locations.

For the year-to-date period, Cache Inc has opened 10 new stores and has closed 3 stores in Fiscal 2005 and expects to open another approximately 8 Cache and approximately 2 Lillie Rubin stores for a total of approximately 25 new stores in Fiscal 2005.

Cache targets women between the ages of 25 and 45 who have a youthful attitude, are self-confident and fashion-conscious, and require a missy fit. Lillie Rubin stores offer a more sophisticated line of social occasion apparel targeting women between the ages of 35 and 55.
