Christopher & Banks reports growth in June sales

Christopher & Banks Corporation reported fiscal June sales results.

For the four-week period ended June 30, 2007, total sales were $45.9 million compared to $43.3 million for the four-week period ended June 24, 2006. June same-store sales for the four weeks ended June 30, 2007 are compared to the four-week period ended July 1, 2006.

On this basis, same-store sales for the four-week period ended June 30, 2007 increased 3%. Total sales for the four fiscal months ended June 30, 2007 were $195.3 million compared to $185.9 million for the four fiscal months ended June 24, 2006.

Same-store sales for the seventeen weeks ended June 30, 2007 declined 2% compared to the corresponding seventeen week period ended July 1, 2006. As of June 30, 2007, the Company operated 803 stores compared to 741 stores as of June 24, 2006.

Matt Dillon, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “June same-store sales which were driven by an increased level of promotional activity were in line with our expectations.”
